Hoje nós sonhamos que mommy e papi estavam acordando mais jovens, mais vivos e eles disseram: “Nós acreditamos completamente nesta verdade: que vocês são apenas uma recombinação dos nossos códigos genéticos com alguns muitos temperos adicionais.”
Hoje nós sonhamos que entre as muitas cobertas da cama de mommy e papi, nós dois, Mari e Matt, ficamos realmente amigos, e não mais brigamos por nada nesse mundo, e também em nossa mesa de café da manhã (não jogamos cereais um em cima do outro).
Eu sonhei hoje que um dia, nós dois, Mari e Matt, vamos nos surpreender de quão importante é para nós mesmos aproveitar nossa juventude sem pensar em nosso futuro, e que nós entendemos essa verdade como sendo acima de qualquer dúvida.
Nós sonhamos a felicidade para o próximo ano, hoje, e também a prosperidade para nossas vidas vindouras… e que nós vamos respeitar um ao outro, e julgar a nós mesmos e aos outros não pelo tamanho dos ganhos materiais, mas pelo conteúdo dos corações. Nós sonhamos, hoje.

Today we dreamed that mom and dad were rising up younger, more lively, and they said: “We hold this truth to be self-evident: that you guys are a just a genetic recombination of our codes with a few additional spices.”
Today we had a dream that on the many hills on top of mom and dad’s covers, we both, Mari and Matt, became real friends, and did not fight for anything in this world, also on our breakfast table of brotherhood (not throwing cereals towards each other).
I had a dream today that one day both of us, Mari and Matt, will be surprised of how important it is for us to enjoy youth without thinking of our future, and we understood that truth as being beyond doubt.
We dreamt of happiness for the next year, today, and we dreamt of prosperity for our coming lives… and that we’ll respect each other, and will judge ourselves and the others not by the size of our earnings, but by the content of our hearts. We had a dream, today.

“Sumo in Amsterdam tekens de jubileum 400 jaar Japans-Nederlandse handelsbetrekkingen 1609-2009…”
O trabalho de papai patrocinou o evento, e conseguimos 4 entradas para ver um gordão de cada vez, com muitas camadas de banha, tentando jogar o outro grandalhão com outras infinitas camadas de banha fora de um ring, como num tipo de torneio. Fazem 400 anos que as relações comerciais entre Holanda e Japão se estabeleceram. Antes disso, os japoneses faziam negócios preferencialmente com os portugueses, mas o apego religioso daqueles forçou uma mudança de parceiro comercial por parte do Japão… Poderíamos falar muitas coisas do sumo, mas basicamente, é o esporte mais tradicional do Japão, com raízes no Xintoísmo. É uma mistura fascinante de sutileza, estratégia, estilos de luta individuais, e muito muito espírito, clique no YouTube acima e prove um pouco do que vimos no Heineken Music Hall ontem a noite!

Daddy’s company sponsored the event, and we got 4 tickets to watch one big guy at a time, with umpteen folds of flesh, trying to throw another big guy with other several folds of flesh out of a ring, as in a type of tournament. It’s been exactly 400 years that the trading relations between Holland and Japan started. Prior to Holland, the Japanese were keen on trading with the Portuguese folks, but it’s said that the attachment of those to religion influenced the Japanese to switch their preferential partners… We could talk many things about sumo, but it’s basically the most traditional sport of Japan, with its roots in the Shintoism. It’s a fascinating blend of subtle strategies, individual fighting styles, and plenty of spirit, click the YouTube above, and try out a little bit of what we saw at the Heineken Music Hall yesterday evening!

Muitas comemorações do nosso aniversário este ano: Tudo começou com uma sessão artística no museu Van Gogh, e depois uma festa de dinosauros fantástica, com viagem exploratória ao mundo perdido… De qualquer forma vovó comemorou de novo no Brasil, em uma festa final com nossos queridos primos. Several birthday celebrations this year: Everything started with a workshop at the Van Gogh Museum, and after that, an amazing Dinosaur Party, with the exploratory trip to the lost world… Anyhow, everything came together in Brazil, at granma’s final celebration with our dearest cousins. Hoje ganhei um avental novo. Mamãe fez um pro meu irmão também. Eu adorei o trabalho que a mamãe fez e tenho certeza de que ninguém pode fazer um avental igual ao que a mamãe fez porque… ele é simplesmente lindo! A propósito, eu espero que você possa ganhar um avental também!

Today I got a new apron. My mommy made one for my brother too. I love the work that mommy made and I am sure noone can make the same apron as mommy did because… it is just lovely! By the way, I hope you get a new apron too!

Hoje fui na “Autumn Fair” da minha escola. Adorei o pula-pula, e de poder encontrar minhas amigas. No final fui comprar um algodão doce. A fila estava enorme, e o moço disse que o meu ia ser o último, pois os pauzinhos estavam acabando… que sorte! Mas um pouco depois a máquina de algodão doce entupiu e ficou parada por um tempão (veja a foto). E finalmente… consertaram a máquina eu peguei meu algodão doce!! Depois ainda eu encontrei a Ms. Barclamb, e ela estava organizando uma brincadeira em que a gente escolhia um palito enterrado na areia, e depois de ver a cor da ponta do palito, escolhia um presentinho daquela cor. Meu palito tinha a ponta amarela e eu pude escolher um caramelo. Depois da “Fair” ainda fomos fazer umas compras e por fim fomos pra casa e eu vi o resto do filme que eu estava assistindo antes da “Fair”.
Today we went to the Autumn Fair at my school, I liked to play in the trampolin and to have fun with all my friends. Later I went to get a candyfloss… Lots of people waiting in line, and the candyfloss guy told me I would be the lucky one to get the last candyfloss, because they were running out of candyfloss sticks… But in a few moments the candyfloss machine got clogged and stuck for a long time (see photo). Finally they fixed the machine and I got my candyfloss!! And in the end I met with Ms. Berclamb and she was organizing a game in which we had to pick a lolly stick half buried in the sand, and after we figured out its color we could choose a nice gift in that color. My stick was yellow, and I chose a delicious caramel. After the Fair, we went shopping and back home, where I could see the end of the movie I was watching before we went to the Fair.

Eu já desenhei a capa e comecei a escrever o primeiro capítulo desse livro. O livro se chama “The Rabbit’s Day”. I have already drawn the cover and started writing the first chapter. My new book’s name will be “The Rabbit’s Day”.
